abcDNA In-Di-Go Blu

Handspun, hand-woven hemp is the basis for this collection of indigo cushions produced by the Tay people in the Northern Highlands of Vietnam. The elaborate motifs featured on many of the cushions are directly influenced by the traditional garments worn by Tay women - full of intricate patterns and contrasting colors. We love how the production of each item not only incorporates repurposed materials, but also provides economic sustainability for a remote, richly artistic community. Versatile indigo works as a neutral here, suiting a bevy of tastes while telling the story of indigenous techniques and production methods. View all abcDNA.
