power to women: our most precious resource
This holiday season, 5% of the proceeds of gifts from Africa will be divided among V-day, Batonga Foundation and the Green Belt Movement to support their work in the Democratic Republic of Congo and throughout Africa.
A month-long installation at abc home to illuminate Africa as a nexus point of healing in the effort to transform our world. The abc platform will be transformed to reflect the textures, colors and spirit of Africa. The installation will feature an extensively sourced collection of sustainable, handmade, organic, and recycled offerings from Africa supporting the indigenous design dna and creating economic sustainability for home-based artisans in rural communities.
Five percent of sales on all Africa merchandise will be distributed amongst three visionary organizations led by powerful women whose inspiration it is to create significant change in Africa: Revolutionary Playwright Eve Ensler's V-Day, Grammy Award Winner Angelique Kidjo's Batonga Foundation, and Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai's The Green Belt Movement.
